Apply for a Hub Manager

Salary: £11.00 - £13.00 per hour plus £250-£500 sign on bonus (depending on experience level)

Hours: Full Time

Job Location: Windsor & Slough, Berkshire

We are currently recruiting for a passionate Nursery Hub Manager to oversee operations of two of our nurseries located 1.5miles from each other. It is a super exciting time for both nurseries. As a local hub manager, you will have an opportunity to be a key part of changes being implemented and to help shape the future of these settings.

A Level 3 is required (minimum 3 years in an early years setting) and previous Manager experience (preferred, although we like giving people opportunities to prove themselves).

Each nursery has space for 24 children and are bright and spacious large rooms. They cater to children aged 2-5.

Both settings have been a key part of the local community for 25+ years and have a warm, family atmosphere that we would expect you to help maintain. Although they are part of the Alba Nurseries group, they do not have a corporate feel. Practitioners work closely between the two settings to align curriculum, exchange ideas, leverage deep specialist expertise and for advice. It truly is one large family.

Both settings have wonderful Montessori resources but are not strictly Montessori. Instead they marry the best of Montessori principles, such as natural materials and child-led learning, with EYFS and our own Alba Succeed curriulum.

As part of the Alba Nurseries group, we are transitioning to an eco-friendly way of operating and also helping the children learn about the role humans have in protecting the environment.

Curriculum is currently being revised to further build on high quality early years education, to introduce additional opportunities for pupils such as science, yoga and music, and to embed Kindness, Curiosity and Mindfulness in our pupils.

As a Manager working with us, you can expect a competitive salary, excellent training and development as well as a caring and passionate place to work.  Very unusually for this sector, Alba Nurseries offers excellent career progression possibilities.

This role will involve day to day activities required of a Nursery Manager such as managing staff scheduling, liaising with parents, dealing with inquiries and other administrative duties. But, more importantly, this role is key in delivering our unique, top tier early years curriculum – Alba Succeed Programme – in a kind and nurturing environment.  Drawing on the latest research in pedagogy, child development and neuro-science, this curriculum marries up Montessori principles, with EYFS, in a flexible way that allows each pupil to meet their developmental needs and to thrive.  As a Nursery Manager you will be a key contributor to ongoing fine tuning and improvement of Alba Succeed.

Through Alba Succeed, we provide the best preparation for entry into primary schools, without the pressure of a pre-school. We work in close partnership with parents/carers to deliver the best results for each pupil. Kindness, Curiosity and Mindfulness, as well as environmental awareness, are at the core of everything we do, helping create a solid foundation for each pupil’s future.

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience of working with early years education settings with successful outcomes for children at ‘Good or Outstanding’ regulatory inspection outcomes

  • Working in collaboration with colleagues in achieving positive working relationships through effective communication and the support of all members of the nursery team

  • A strong record of on-going training and/or professional qualifications since qualifying

  • Experience of child protection and safeguarding policies and procedures

  • Highly motivated and driven, meeting deadlines in relation to children’s record keeping and assessment

  • Current 12hrs Paediatric First Aid Certificate or, if newly qualified, be prepared to complete one within three months of starting work
